I received this TV as a Christmas gift. It is in our bedroom and get very gentle use. In fact, many times days go by when it isn’t even turned on at all. It already doesn’t work Less than four months old and the picture doesn’t always come on. The best part is, that to have it fixed, I have to pay for “proper shipping materials” to send it to them, do without for two to three weeks, and then get it back. If it is damaged in shipping and they determine it is because it wasn’t packed “correctly” they won’t fix it. So I get to pay fifty bucks in packing materials so that I can get a new TV fixed. GREAT POLICY!!!!
I will never buy a Samsung ANYTHING again.

I know the TV is a great as I have seen it in a store. Amazon had a great price so I ordered it. It was shipped via FEDEX from Texas to Norwalk CT. It made it as far as the Stamford CT FEDEX and then got mysteriously “Lost”, and FEDEX was unable to locate it. This occurred right before XMAS, which made it extremely disappointing. Although Amazon reimbursed me, they were out of these TVs, due to the fact that it was such a great deal, so they couldn’t ship me another one. I don’t know for sure, but I believe it was sent in its original package. This is an extremely tempting item for theft, and that’s likely what happened to it. I gave it zero stars because the package needs to be wrapped to minimize the chance of theft. Maybe it is cheaper for Amazon to ship it this way and lose a few, than go through the trouble of wrapping it. Does anyone know if these were shipped in their original box? I ended up getting a Vizio 32 inch 720P TV for a little more money, but it still irks me that I didn’t get the Samsung.

Do not buy a Samsung TV. My 40 inch Samsung LCD lasted just a little over 2 years. According to multiple internet sites
Samsung built a bunch of LCD TV’s with bad capacitors that fail after a year or more (right after warranty is over).
You can do a simple Google search and find many people who have had the same problems. After a year or two, the TV’s
no longer turn on. Samsung has been made aware of this issue, but refuses to correct the problem. There are multiple
sites that even tell you exactly how the problem is corrected. I am sure the number of people with this problem will
increase as time goes by. Even with the extended warranty, it is not worth the hassle of buying a large TV from a
company that does not support its products. I did a lot of research before choosing a Samsung, but since it was
early in the production cycle, the problem did not appear. Don’t take a chance, get another brand.
