Mass Effect was such a major revelation in RPG/Action gaming but Mass Effect 2 has taken it to a whole new level. Super futuristic, gritty yet polished, beautiful, real personalities, headshots and biotic smack-downs make this game a satisfying story and with major combat deliciousness. I just love taking out mercs with headshots and smacking down mechs. I haven't gotten through the Omega 4 relay but I had to start over from playing a Vanguard to an Adept. They have more cool powers and yet I can have satisfying kills with my pistol. Adepts were weak in combat in the first Mass Effect but are much more battle ready in Mass Effet 2 such as heavy weapons and submachine guns. Yes!. My only gripes are that I have gotten stuck in corners and on top of crates so I sometimes have to restart the mission. I'm sure there's a patch in the works. Also the battle cries of my comrade in arms are kind of repetitive and one being kind of a silly stereotype. I also don't like that there isn't any anti-aliasing in Direct X 10 but they improved the film grain so it's not so noticeable.

It lives and breathes and is a galaxy of real worlds to explore and kick a**. There is a lot of swearing with Jack being the foul mouth of the crew. It's kind of fun to hear though when she takes out a Krogen. The new Normandy is a futuristic and plush upgrade with my own cabin! It feels sleek and powerful and Joker just loves it sans the onboard AI. She can get on my nerves too. In the real world my system is a dual core 3.2 ghz with 2 gb of ram and an over-clocked ATI 5770 and it plays great at maximum 1680x1050. Get it and all your Star Trek and Galactica desires will be stroked.

It's the best thing to happen to mankind since titties.

Big ones.

Absolutely mind-blowing project from Bioware...

Addictive, artistic, incredibly well-written storyline, intelligent, graphically jaw-dropping, keep-you-from-getting-up-to-pee fun.

All other RPG's are now grandma's Solitaire.

Two choices, RPG fans. Buy it, or cut your mouse hand off.

Copypasta from IGN.COM official review:

10 Presentation

Clean and sophisticated. Brilliant and cinematic.

9.5 Graphics
Exceptional artistic direction and a top notch-technical showcase.

10 Sound
Martin Sheen steals the show, even amidst all of the outstanding voice acting and music.

9.5 Gameplay
Tight mechanics, thrilling combat, and deep role-playing. The design is unparalleled.

10 Lasting Appeal
A remarkable achievement in adapting a story to your decisions. It creates amazing replay value.

9.6
Incredible OVERALL

The start screen will auto connect to the net if you have a connection with out asking and you can not turn it off. Also the hyper-link on the start up screen is broken for Downloadable Content, (DLC).
The in-game connection can be turned off under options.
There are key binding issues with the PC version. Do not re-assign the left shift key or the space bar and you should be OK.

This is a big game, 2 DVD mostly movies, it's kind of nice, allot of cut scenes, especially at the beginning, and the are well done. Interaction is pretty good too, actually real good so far.
Graphics look pretty good at 1920 x 1200, no Crysis but still pretty nice.
The game is not bad but you can tell it feels like a kiddie console port job. It has been dumbed down since the first Mass Effect to the point that levelling up almost seems pointless compared to the options you had in the first one. Then there are the kiddie console achievements....

Don't get me going on the stupid trophies and achievements that do nothing for you. At least Fallout 3 bobble heads did something for you and did not feel like a trophy even though they were in sense. But the senseless Trophies are being put into all the kiddie console games now days. I don't need no stinking achievement just for sake of bragging rights.!!!!! They must think all gamers are 13 -16 year olds.

Overall so far pretty good but I wished I had waited for the price to come down first, not worth full price in my book because of the obvious port job simplicity to it, no good PC depth levelling up that it could have been if it were written for the PC first or if they bothered to add it into the PC version. I guess then they would piss off Microbloat and their crapbox 360 support and get jealous of the better PC version.

I still recommend it as a good game.

I preordered this game and it seemed ok when I installed it. However, I have only played for about 15 minutes when I decided to try and download my bonus content.

The website for registering and downloading the content is broken, and there seems to be no monitoring of the site and there is no recognition by EA that the site is broken.

They recommend using chat to resolve your problem. I waited 35 minutes to get to a chat agent only to have it disconnect me with the message no agent was available when I got to the top of the queue. It then reconnected me back at the bottom of the queue.

Meanwhile, I have been on hold for 1 hr and 15 minutes for the customer service line. Every 2 minutes it says that the longest caller has been on hold for more than 20 minutes and encourages you to use chat, which is technically correct but misleading and dishonest.

This is some of the worst technical support I have experienced, and I would discourage anyone from having to go through it.
